Hey everybody! As some of you know, I have been playing Maul since the day Spark of Hope dropped. Many players simply dismiss Maul as being ok or even no good. I just keep going back to this Character. And, I’ve had a lot of success playing with Maul in casual events here locally.

But CAN Maul find success in big events? So far no.

But why? I think it’s mainly because folks need to better understand how this character works.

Maul decks are going to be very low on cash. If you are playing eMaul, you are only going to have 1 other character and 1 other character die. And you WANT damage showing on all of your dice. Simply put, you DO NOT want to see resources showing. That being said, money is hard to come by. That’s probably one of the biggest reasons people shy away from Maul.

I’m sharing a build that makes every round of a game with Maul affordable. You will notice that it includes 17 zero costed cards & 13 one cost cards.

Half of the deck is made up of efficient removal cards. The other half of the deck includes affordable damage dealing cards and resource generating cards.

Maul likes to stay back and calculate his strikes. So he needs to stay protected. But he also needs the freedom to burst out doing damage to multiple characters on the field.

Take a look at the deck I call “Economy Maul” and tell me what you think. Better yet, why not take it for a spin. It’s a fun deck to play.

I'm only 3 months new to the game and I've been playing 2 different Variants of Maul. Both are considered my main Decks to play. but I've had a lot of success at my local with him as well. though my builds are Very agro with like mitigation cards and a lot of way to get around there mitigation. I do have one other deck I play as well but its more my fun deck. long story short, I agree with you Maul has potential.
