This is what I plan on fielding at the Covenant Masters Invitational this weekend for the Trilogies portion. Here are my thoughts:
I’m playing blue for Respite. Yes, the fact that Truce isn’t available in Trilogies is that important. But it also gives access to one of the better free removal cards in Hidden Motive. And the Guardian and shield sides on Jedi Temple Guard are good for protecting Boushh. I really want to hit her special fairly consistently after turn one. The single card draw off of Respite is also super nice for drawing mods. And who cares that I exhaust the Gungan Warrior to do it?
There are several more appropriate yellow villain cards to add in Standard, but there is one other card that Boushh lets you play: Motivation. Ideally this is played to increase a resource side, but doing an extra point of damage is also worth a zero-cost card.
Reposition is a card I’m experimenting with. I’m looking for the “sweet spot”, wherein the opponent has one die in play on the side they want it, and forcing them to turn it is a positive outcome for me. For example, Darth Vader on his 3 side with no resources, or on his 4 for 1 side when he does. Reposition then saves me a point of damage, and lets me focus to Boushh’s special side. Or if they claim with a die still out.
Resistance Crait Speeder: something else to put mods on, especially if they take a turn to Vandalize the Firespray. I still think that unless you’re a speed deck, every red hero player should play Crait Speeder even if they have no other vehicles. Think about it as if it 2-cost upgrade. Those sides, with the one-time boost ability, and essentially “redeploy”. Also, all of the mods with dice and the Firespray itself have modifier sides, and the Crait Speeder helps to find the damage side you need.
Dorsal Turret is not great. On its free roll-in you’ve got a 50/50 chance of getting anything, and if it whiffs then you don’t automatically reroll it when you activate the vehicle it’s attached to. But since I’m not playing Rebel Engineer to find mods for me, I can’t really do without it. Dorsal Turret just barely edges out Laser Canon. But there’s a good chance that you can find at least 2 damage each round out of the Dorsal Turret.
There you go!
