So my take on uber aggro Boba deck. Gameplan is very very simple - reroll as much as you can to max damage output, while using this vast pool of mitigations to keep your team alive. Cards explanations:
BD-1 Cutter Vibro-AX - only 3 cost upgrade. Your main tool of shield hate. R2P2? Cute. Quigon? Cute. With Truce you can push some really suprise moves with it.
Vibroknife - same as above but cheaper, faster, but less powerfull. But with all that focuses you can punch some damage under shields with it to finish up that Qui or Obi.
Fast Hands - great on Boba. Enemy rolled some big dmg and you can't mitigate it? Then at least 1/3 chance to give him his own medicine.
ID9 Seeker Droid - must have with sister. You mostly want focuses or damage on it.
Makashi Training - best substitute for Ancient Lightsaber that i cannot hit int those boosters.... Damage output is very similar and heal is somehow compensated with removal it provides.
On The Hunt - still wondering if it should be here, but i have no solid replacement for it. As a shield hate/removal tool it is pretty solid, but does not provide much utility aside from that special. Dont hesitate to drop it for reroll.
Dark Counsel - bread and butter of this deck, always try to have it in opening hand. Special is awesome and focuses are much needed.
Bait and Switch -ahhh yea....with every damaging dice in this deck having a resource you can pull some nasty moves with that: suprise finisher with vibro, suprise Boba's special? It won me multiple games.
Bamboozle - it looks...funny. But it works. Reroll can save you in clutch situations and chance to steal a cash is nice bonus.
Doubt, Electroshock, Feel Your Anger, He Doesn't Like You,Isolation all serves same purpose - this deck lives from mitigation and dies with lack of it. Mitigate every even possible damage dice. Thats your game plan.
Truce - great card. Suprise mitigation when your opponent was sure you can't afford one, or suprise Axe resolution are not to be underestimated.
Overall the deck is very fast and very resilent. Multiple times i ended first round dealing 6+ damage and receiving 0-2 myself.

Yah I agree with that. I personally don't like 'truce' and prefer 'well connected'. I play with 'friends in low places' so id prefer to give a card for a resource as I will soon take it away anyways. Then either 'truce' or 'enrage' for additional resources. Maybe remove one 'on the hunt' and one 'dark council' for 2 of Maul's lightsabers. And the ancients for makashi's as stated above. For me its all about getting Maul's saber out as fast as possible. I use well connected for resource, then play the saber, then friends in low place to look at hand and remove dice mitigation card, then roll in... |

I think this deck has a lot of potential but what would you swap out for makashi. I don’t have ancient lightsabers or a second dark council. |

This deck looks very fun! Once i get a set of Vibroknife im going to try playing it in some local tournaments. |

I'm working my own deck off of the back of this and finding it fun. What did you find it struggled again? Did you face mill? I was pondering swapping an On The Hunt (as you said you weren't sure about it) and a Vibroknife (as I only have 1) for two Force Rend to counter the mill decks (C3PO and chance cube mainly, but also second chance maybe). Thougths? I've also swapped a fast hands for a Vibrocutlass as the redeploy and 4/1 with Boba's special is good fun. |
On The Hunt is there as is it 1 cost - easy to play , easy to overwrite. Force Rend is too expensive for what you get (3 + cost..) and got one almost dead side (+2 ranged). If you are worried about cube and C3PO i suggest using Vandalize - 1 resource and 1 Sister dice will work better IMO. Vibrocutlass is waaay to expensive for this deck. Your only option is to overwrite something to play it, and that way you are down 1 dice that can pull similar damage. Boba is totally fine hitting just for 2 from his special (his dice got three 2-damage sides this way that is crazy consistent as it is). Fast Hands is also almost a must on him - without it you loose the threat of rolling that special when there is big dice on the opponents side - as he will have time to resolve it. |
Ok, thanks for your input. What would you swap out for vandalise then? I'm reluctant to drop much mitigation from the deck, but definitely think being able to remove c3po is important for countering the mill decks that seem to be rising at the moment. I've managed to get the cutlass out first turn, and it absolutely wrecked doing so, but I think I got lucky with the rolls. |
Well of course you CAN drop Cuttlas even turn one - but by doing so you sacrificed at least 2 dice that could deal dmg :) Plus with Hondo around - you can't rely on expensive upgrades anymore without solid resource generation. |
Think you're right on every count there. I'm going to keep a cutlass in instead of a knife as I've only got 1 knife and it's way more fun than a gaffi stick (accepting it's the suboptimal choice too). So you'd drop both On The Hunt for two Vandalize if you were including it? Thanks for posting the deck by the way, really enjoying it. |
-Mostly I lost to various Tarkin builds - as there is no way to mitigate those 4 indirects a turn, and those Tarkin have more than enough tricks to mitigate your damage. Zeb with 2nd chance also posed some issues as he just outlast you. -Mills (at least Rieekan ones) weren't an issue at all. They live from shields and you rip those away very easy with this build just look for AX or On the Hunt in opener. |
Ok, great. Half of my thinking with Force Rend was it can strip second chance, but you need 3 resources and the special to remove it, and it has to be on 7th. You're right that it's too expensive. I guess against Tarkin it's just a race. Worth taking shields whenever I can against him or just going full damage? |
For both Force Illusion and Second Chance - Vandalize wins as you can bait some bad overwrite with it - and no one will do such overwrite when Rend is showing special. Plus 3 resourced is a lot - Hondo will never let you accumulate 3 is you got Rend in play unless you want to get 3dmg after 3dmg ;) |
With Tarkin is you got 2 droids and one is showing shields i would take them. |
Fantastic, thank you. Planning to take this to a regionals soon, so we'll see how it goes. I'll give vandalise instead of On The Hunt a try and see how it feels. Thanks for the help! |
Good luck and let me know how it worked as after all i did not took it to regio - and i would really like to know how it fares level above simple local events. |
Will do. I'm not gunning for winning, but definitely think I can do well with this deck. Regardless of that, it's fun, so should be a good day playing it. |
I like the deck and I'm sleeving it up now. However, I do question the battlefield. Boba's special seems to be the only one worth triggering, but does his die last until you claim? Is the Throne room too high risk? |

I feel this deck has promise. A 5 dice start with Boba Fett is great. I would include some additional resource generation and Maul's lightsaber. The high value sides on his lightsaber is great to trigger boba fett's special. I like 'well connected' to add resources. Drop Maul's lightsaber 1st round and with some lucky rolls do 4 dmg from boba's special, then resolve to hit them for more.
