This deck plays pretty much like the hero version of Vader/Raider (pre-Fast Hands errata) except Sabine has in-built Fast Hands (a better version in fact cause you can resolve multiple dice with modifiers after activation).
You'll notice there's only one thermal weapon in the deck. While its nice to save a dollar playing a thermal weapon, its almost always better to roll in Sabine Wren - Explosives Expert with an ambush weapon so you can resolve any damage immediately.
In your starting hand your looking for a Smuggling and any ambush weapon. Ditch your ambush weapon with smuggling and then next turn roll in Sabine to play the ambush weapon, with the ambush action you can resolve your dice. Two 2 cost ambush weapons is also a good opening hand cause you can play the first weapon, overwrite with the second weapon then activate to overwrite again from the discard to resolve dice immediately.
Tips on playing the deck:
-
You can loop DL-44 Heavy Blaster Pistol to make your opponent lose a dice each turn. If you get a chance overwrite your DL-44 Heavy Blaster Pistol with another upgrade, then activate to play your DL-44 Heavy Blaster Pistol again from the discard pile. Especially oppressive if you have two DL-44 Heavy Blaster Pistol and your battlefield cause it's possible to remove two dice per turn if you play one DL-44 Heavy Blaster Pistol from hand then overwrite with the other from discard. God forbid you have 2 DL-44 Heavy Blaster Pistol in hand cause that's 3 dice removed.
-
Force Illusion is great early, keeps Sabine Wren - Explosives Expert alive and helps mill upgrades into the discard so you can use her ability.
-
At first the two Vibroknife seem out of place but they're mainly there as a pseudo Hit and Run. If you have no ambush guns in discard and one equipped just overwrite the equipped gun with vibro and bring it back for the ambush activation.
-
If you happen to have two Running Interference, a Thermal Paint, your battlefield and two ambush weapons, then you can loop infinitely to win. Rarely need to rely on this but its nice when it happens.
-
A single Running Interference is also very effective and opens a lot of possibilities. You can play Concentrate from your hand and focus two dice, then tap Running Interference to stop mitigation from hand. You can resolve a dice to stop your opponent from resolving dice to mitigate them next turn. Or just stall them from activating to ensure you get to claim.
-
If Sabine Wren - Explosives Expert dies, you've still got plenty of hope. Try to make sure Holdout Blasters are always on Sabine Wren - Explosives Expert if possible and if you feel like, you can always play the Bowcaster when you activate if its in the discard pile for the redeploy.
- Kanan Jarrus - Rebel Jedi is great. His is essentially a free Force Strike and the rest of his sides are also serviceable. With his ability and Sabine's ability you should be claiming most of the time.
This deck is pretty much unbeatable if your rolling hot as its not possible to dice control. You've also got access to the best survival cards in the game with Second Chance and Force Illusion as well as plenty of dice control. DL-44 Heavy Blaster Pistol looping is pretty broken. Running Interference will also frustrate your opponents quite a bit. A fun deck to play as but not against.

Went 3-0 in a weekly store championship and I've played a lot of games against the Poe/Maz my friend runs. At least a 80% win rate against Poe/Maz, force Illusion really helps with finding upgrade (especially when it blocks 4-5 damage) and once DL-44 Heavy Blaster Pistol are out, Poe loses one or both his dice each activation. A little harder against 2 player builds if both characters are even strength (e.g. FN/Kylo2) but it still wins 65-70% of the time. Vibroknife is tough to deal with cause force illusion is pretty important to consistency. Very one-sided against control decks cause you've essentially got hit and run every turn with Sabine. |
How many games have you played with this? Have you got a rough W/L ratio?
