DJ is a character that is great to build around, being able to play control, while still dishing out damage to the opponent. Mono-Yellow or with Red didnt offer up enough, Blue really had the best removal events.

Originally thought of Kylo or elite 7th Sister. but the resolution of difference dice symbols made the deck too slow. The best blue character was then Talzin. Her dice sides are similar to DJ (range and discard).

The Sith Holocron option was chosen, for two reasons. The first being it can save resources, which is necessary to have resources for all the events. Second was that it gave allowance to play 3 cost upgrades.

The standard opening hand is to get Sith Holocron and an Force ability, and ideally Force Speed. this also helps cut out some of the even costed cards from the deck, since this deck is only around 70% odd cost. Even so, Talzin hits most of the time, helping with consistency, or turning that crucial die to whatever symbol is needed. Witch Magick is still useful, usually healing 2, occasionally 3.

Force abilities was a better choice because it also helps with the control aspect. Force Push has symbols to match the characters. With it out, damage increases, or sometimes a crucial discard 2. Force Throw is the best, its special does damage, plus the DJ trigger. (good combo with Force Push special). And Force Lightning is powerful for its range side, but even better for its special side, dealing 1 damage, remove an opponent blank, deal DJ damage trigger, and then reroll its die.

why not run [Taking Ground so you have a better chance of getting your battlefield?

Fortify was chosen since Talzin has little health. for me getting the battlefield is a bonus, but often times i like playing on the opponent's to get 2 more shields.
